BR's Blue Dominates Showcase

(RANCHO CUCAMONGA) - With
over 42 participants playing in the first "Unsigned
Showcase" at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, all the players
fought thru the extreme heat and humidity and played an outstanding
baseball. In game
one, the Blue team got on the board first when MVP Zach Baker lined
a triple into the right center gap. Don Bosco Tech catcher Adrian Martinez
quickly
doubled to get Baker across for the first run. The Blue Team scored
their
second run of the game when Valencia HS outfielder Michael Scott Jr.
doubled, Josh Larson of Huntington Beach would knock in Scott on another
double.
David Piriano of Eastside Christian HS and Crispin Tarango of Diamond
Bar HS would team up to put another run across with back to back doubles.
Armando Gallardo made some outstanding defensive plays going to his right
and going up the middle for 6-3 put outs as he earned the Defensive Player
award.
Dominic Ackerman from Poway high school scored their first run for the
red team in the fifth inning with a double. Ackerman would see smack
another double and also scored the second run for the red team on a RBI
single
by Joseph Caporuscio of Santa Margarita high school. Final Score Game
1: BR Blue 3, BR Red 2
In the final second game it was shortened to six innings of baseball.
With outstanding pitching from Zach Richmond (Chino Hills HS) of the
red team, he allowed only 1 hit over 2 innings. Matt Rudebusch for
the blue team (Moorpark HS) would counter by striking out one batter
and not allowing any hits over his 2 innings of work. The game would
end in a 3-3 tie.
